Hi there! I'm Michelle, a wife and homeschooling mom to three amazing children. We've been homeschooling for the past 10 years and it has been an incredible journey. Homeschooling has allowed us to tailor our education to meet the unique needs of each of my children. I'm a firm believer that education isn't just about academics, but also about nurturing curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking skills.
One of the things we love to do as a family is travel. We've been fortunate enough to visit many states in the USA and particularly love visitingNational Parks. We also took an extended trip to Italy and Switzerland in 2018. The Pandemic put our international travel plans on hold, but we're looking forward to getting back out there. I firmly believe that travel is an important part of education. It's a great way to expose my children to different cultures, languages, and histories. Traveling also allows us to make memories that will last a lifetime.
As a passionate photographer, I love to capture the moments of our adventures through my lens. I'm excited to share our adventures with you! In addition to photographing my family, I work with my clients to capture special moments for their families. I have done newborn sessions, preschool and school photos and tons of family sessions. I really love doing senior portraits though. It's such a fun time in a teens life and it's become a special focus of my photography.
I absolutely love interior design, cooking, and gardening. As someone who spends a lot of time at home, these hobbies help me to create a warm and welcoming environment that my whole family enjoys spending time in. When it comes to interior design, it's been a passion since I was young. I grew up watching shows like This Old House (long before the days of HGTV) and decided to major in Interior Design in college. I worked for various architecture firms as well as in corporate furniture sales, but I really just love creating spaces that reflect my personal style and are easy to live in.
Cooking is another passion of mine, as I love trying out new recipes and experimenting with different flavors and cuisines. My 16 year old has taken over our kitchen and it's been really fun seeing her flourish in her cooking skills. Finally, gardening allows me to get my hands dirty and connect with nature. I love planting and tending to my garden, and seeing the fruits of my labor as the plants grow and bloom. Together, these hobbies bring joy and beauty to my life and I couldn't imagine living without them.
Another interest is supporting fair trade businesses. I believe that fair trade empowers communities, protects the environment, and ensures that workers are treated fairly. I try to purchase products that are fair trade certified and educate my children about the importance of supporting ethical businesses. I can't wait to introduce you to some of my favorite companies.
